Please give preference when signing up.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>You must schedule a hands-on session if you are choosing Zoom.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PALS Course and Certification<br \/>\nPALS course developed by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics for the continuing education of health care providers. The course focuses on identifying pre-arrest states and preventing cardiopulmonary arrest in children. The course covers techniques relevant to effective recognition and pediatric resuscitation.<\/p>\n<p>Course goals<\/p>\n<p>After completing the PALS course, the participant will be able to demonstrate the\u00a0following skills:<\/p>\n<p>Identify symptoms of respiratory failure and shock in the infant or child.<br \/>\nRecognize the infant or child at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest.<br \/>\nDefine approaches to the prevention of pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest.<br \/>\nDemonstrate the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed for the resuscitation of the child or infant in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Class size is limited to 10 students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Provider status<\/p>\n<p>Participants who successfully complete the course will receive PALS Provider Status through the AHA. The PALS Provider Card is valid for two years.
